Kwantu is on the Sidbury Plains in the Eastern Cape, between Gqeberha (Port Elizabeth) and Makhanda (Grahamstown). Our address is 1 Daniel Street, Sidbury, 6130 – see Lodge Information for directions and GPS co-ordinates.

Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport in Gqeberha is about 95 km away – roughly an hour’s drive. Airport transfers can be arranged on request when you book.

Yes. Kwantu is in a malaria-free and bilharzia-free area, so no anti-malaria medication is needed. Professional medical facilities are within about half an hour’s drive.

Yes – Kwantu is proud to be fully halaal and alcohol-free. We have a prayer room for guests and offer prayer options for guests wishing to attend Friday Jumu’ah prayers. Read more on our Halaal Safari page.

No. Kwantu is an alcohol-free environment and alcohol may not be brought onto the reserve. Non-alcoholic beverages are served with all meals.

Yes. Day visits run daily – morning visits start at 09:00 and afternoon visits at 13:00 – and include a 2–3 hour Big 5 game drive and a meal. Book on our Day Visits page.

All visitors need a valid passport, and some nationalities also need a visa. Please check the Department of Home Affairs website for current requirements before you travel.

Yes. A valid driver’s licence and your passport are needed to hire a car in South Africa. If your licence is not in English, an International Driving Permit is recommended.

Yes – we welcome local and international school groups for day visits and overnight educational trips, with game drives, conservation learning and sport in a safe, alcohol-free and halaal environment. Send us an enquiry.
